How do I know which plan is right for my student?

Complete your first one-hour session for just $35 and we will recommend a meeting frequency at the end of the first session based on your student’s baseline level of performance, grade or other goals, and timeframe. We can then recommend the plan—hourly or subscription—that makes the most sense for you.

 

Can I start on the hourly plan and then upgrade to a subscription after a session or two?

Absolutely. You can upgrade from the hourly plan to a subscription plan at any time.  We want you to be confident that Frontier Tutoring is the right fit for your student before you purchase a subscription.

 

 

How does a subscription work?

We know that tutoring typically results in the best outcomes when the student commits to a consistent weekly meeting schedule—whether once per week, twice per week, or more, depending on the student’s needs. As a result, the most effective way to use a subscription is to set up a standing once or twice weekly session. With a subscription plan, your student will be guaranteed the ability to schedule up to 1 or 2 hours per week of tutoring, depending on the plan you choose—and you’ll benefit from big savings relative to paying hourly. If needed, you can also request to schedule more hours than are included in the subscription.

 

When does my subscription start? When does it renew?

Your subscription will activate and be billed on the date of the first session conducted under the subscription plan.  It will renew automatically every 4 weeks until you cancel it.

 

Can my student use the subscription to receive tutoring for multiple subjects?

Yes. Assuming your student will be working with two separate Tutoring Specialists, we recommend that you choose the 2 hour per week subscription and schedule a one-hour recurring weekly session for each subject.

 

Can two students in the same family share a subscription?

Yes.  We recommend that each student set up a recurring weekly schedule.

 

What happens if I have a subscription and you cannot accommodate a session that I have requested to schedule at least 3 days in advance?

In the unlikely event we are unable to accommodate your request for a session made at least 3 days in advance, we will extend your subscription's term (i.e. delay its renewal date) and add an hour to your subscription for your student to use anytime before your subscription renews.

 

What happens if my student cannot schedule sessions during a given week (e.g., because we are out of town)?

Provided you advise us at least 7 days in advance of the week you will need to miss, we can suspend your subscription (i.e. "put it on pause") during the time you will be absent.  For example, a 7 day suspension would provide your student with 7 additional days in which to use his or her hours, and it would additionally delay your renewal date by the same amount of time.

 

What if my subscription is about to be renewed when there are fewer than 4 weeks remaining in the semester?

Provided you advise us prior to the end of your current subscription period, we can suspend your subscription (i.e. "put it on pause") during the time you will be absent.  For example, a 14 day suspension during winter break would provide your student with 14 additional days in which to use his or her hours, and it would additionally delay your renewal date by the same amount of time.

 

What happens if I request a last minute session (fewer than 3 days in advance)?

Although we cannot guarantee the ability to fulfill last minute session requests, we do our best to accommodate them. Requests from subscription holders are given priority over requests from customers on hourly plans.

 

What if I want to cancel a scheduled session?

You may cancel sessions without penalty as long as you do so at least 24 hours in advance. If you cancel a session without sufficient notice, you may be charged for the session (for subscription holders, the amount of time you scheduled may be deducted from your subscription hours).  At our option, we may allow exceptions to the 24 hour notice requirement in extenuating circumstances (e.g., if your student gets sick).  If you have a subscription and need to cancel a scheduled session, we will make every effort to allow you to reschedule the session, subject to schedule availability.

 

What if I want to change or cancel my subscription?

You may upgrade your subscription (e.g., from 1 hour per week to 2 hours per week) at any time and the change will be applied upon renewal. You may cancel the renewal of your subscription at any time by contacting us prior to your subscription renewal date. Generally, we are unable to issue refunds for a subscription period you have already purchased.
